London Rock Station Leaving DAB for Online.

Might signal the beginning of the end of the linear radio platform for certain services
TeamRock Radio is leaving DAB radio in June to concentrate on podcasting and online streaming, TeamRock Radio is making the change from broadcast to podcast as it comes off the national digital radio platform.

The station signed a two year agreement with Arqiva in 2013 but won’t be renewing it, instead signing up to a new deal with 7digital to make all of its programmes available to download, whilst continuing to stream 24/7 online. TeamRock has reached one million registered users, four times its original target, most of which now are based outside the UK.

Commenting TeamRock CEO Billy Anderson said: TeamRock.com is a global business. We are proudly based in the UK, but the speed of our growth means we constantly have to adapt to global demands for our product. Our fan base want streaming, downloads, specific programming, interviews and insight alongside the ability to listen back to what we produce at their leisure. TeamRock Radio launched commercial free in May 2013.
